CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS, a new ballet by choreographer Risa Kaplowitz, captures the feel of a modern-day storybook with the story of a little boy who, when forced to leave his playmates to practice the piano, uses his vivid imagination to bring the memorable music of Camille Saint-Saëns to life. GRADUATION BALL is set in a nineteenth-century girls' boarding school, where boys from a nearby military academy have been invited to a dance in celebration of the graduating seniors. Originally choreographed by David Lichine to the lively music of Johann Strauss II, the ballet is filled with brilliant dancing, laugh-out-loud comedy, and delightful entertainment. SENSORY-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCE: CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS on SUNDAY, MAY 6th at 1 PM, a running time of approximately 30 minutes and will provide a welcoming atmosphere with moderated lighting and sound, alternative seating arrangements, and a pre-performance guide for audience members.
