Join a Duke Farms educator to learn why Duke Farms is For the Birds! During these sessions, Junior Ornithologists will gain an understanding of what makes birds so unique and fascinating. Through games and classroom activities, we will explore the life histories of birds and delve into topics such as bird biology and adaptations for flight, behavior, diets and habitats. We will learn to use binoculars and field guides and will go outside to see what our feathered friends are up to throughout the year.

New Jersey State Museum

Explore the existence of crocodiles in New Jersey throughout their evolution. Crocodylians have been on the Earth for over 200 million years, and the wide diversity of crocodile species found in the Garden State’s fossil record is amazing. The exhibit delves into the fossil history of crocs in NJ, with preserved croc-like trackways dating back almost 200 million years and a nearly complete skeleton of crocodylian Hyposaurus rogersii, which lived in what is now Gloucester Co., NJ about 65 million years ago. Visitors will also come face-to-face with a six-foot skull reconstruction of Deinosuchus, one of the largest crocodiles to ever live.

Washington Crossing Historic Park

Bring the kids to Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) to plant seeds for heirloom lavender in pots of their own design. Pots, seeds, special starter soil and watering cans will be provided. This workshop will be led by Blanche Gottel, “The Plant Lady of Bucks County.” The workshop is limited to 30 children.

Produced by the Arts Council of Princeton with participation from the students of Princeton University and support from the town of Princeton, Communiversity ArtsFest features over 200 booths showcasing original art and contemporary crafts, unique merchandise and culinary masterpieces from local chefs, plus six stages of continuous live entertainment. Communiversity ArtsFest draws over 40,000 art lovers and fun seekers to downtown Princeton, making it Central New Jersey’s largest and longest running cultural event.
