Join a Duke Farms educator to learn why Duke Farms is For the Birds! During these sessions, Junior Ornithologists will gain an understanding of what makes birds so unique and fascinating. Through games and classroom activities, we will explore the life histories of birds and delve into topics such as bird biology and adaptations for flight, behavior, diets and habitats. We will learn to use binoculars and field guides and will go outside to see what our feathered friends are up to throughout the year.

New Jersey State Museum

Explore the existence of crocodiles in New Jersey throughout their evolution. Crocodylians have been on the Earth for over 200 million years, and the wide diversity of crocodile species found in the Garden State’s fossil record is amazing. The exhibit delves into the fossil history of crocs in NJ, with preserved croc-like trackways dating back almost 200 million years and a nearly complete skeleton of crocodylian Hyposaurus rogersii, which lived in what is now Gloucester Co., NJ about 65 million years ago. Visitors will also come face-to-face with a six-foot skull reconstruction of Deinosuchus, one of the largest crocodiles to ever live.

Washington Crossing Historic Park

Bring your whole family to the Washington Crossing Historic Park Visitor Center on March 24 and you’ll leave with your next Facebook profile picture! The Friends of Washington Crossing Park will host a morning of colonial crafts and a chance to dress in colonial-era clothing and pose for a group photo with your family. This event lasts an hour and will be held at 10 AM, 11 AM and noon. Event capacity is 30 children for each time slot.
