Einstein was born on March 14th - 3.14 — the numeric equivalent of Pi! Every year, the town of Princeton celebrates with an irrational number of events, including pie eating, pie throwing, pi recitation, pizza pie, and cupcake decorating contests! Highlights include:
9:00am Apple Pie Eating Contest - McCaffrey’s in the Princeton Shopping Center
10:00am— 11:00am Surprise Birthday Party for Albert Einstein at the Nassau Inn, Princeton Room
10:30am - 11:55am Einstein in Princeton Guided Walking Tour
12:00pm Einstein Look-A-Like Contest
1:00pm “What is Pi? How Memory Works”
1:30pm The FAMOUS Pi Recitation Contest Nassau Inn Princeton Room followed by a Princeton Pi-Rade led by winner of Pi Recitation Contest
Early learners explore materials, make art, and get inspired by GFS’s current exhibitions. Each month features a different theme. All Tots For Sculpture workshops are designed for kids ages 3 to 5 together with their adult caregivers. This month’s theme is Textures: Smooth and Scratchy. Kids ages 3-5 with their adult caregiver.
Get inspired and create! These workshops are designed for kids between the ages of 6 and 10 and combine exploration in the galleries and experimentation with related materials and techniques in the studio. This month’s theme is Wildest Dreams: Futuristic Investigations. Kids ages 6-10. Fee includes admission to GFS the day of the workshop.
Join Alice on her trip through Wonderland as she wanders through a garden of magical flowers, a truly mad tea party, a mysterious grinning cat, and of course the Queen and King of Hearts and their court. Will Alice ever find her way out of Wonderland? Shows at 11am & 1pm.
Soar into space in the New Jersey State Museum's Planetarium! The Planetarium regularly premiers new and exciting shows for a variety of ages that feature state-of-the-art Full DomeVideo. Featured shows: 12:00pm - Stars; 1:00pm - The Little Star That Could; 2:00pm - Dinosaurs at Dusk; 3:00pm - Wildest Weather in the Solar System
"Orli Shaham's Bach Yard" concert features wind players from Ensemble Connect, a program of Carnegie Hall, with host/pianist Orli Shaham. This year's program, "Welcome the Winds!" will introduce youngsters to the instruments of the wind family through interactive storytelling and live performance.
Children 5 years old and up have an extra opportunity to work on skills they have been learning in classes or to reinforce skills they have already acquired. Coaches are present to provide supervision and guidance to all participants.
