Jersey Crocs Rule!

Jersey Crocs Rule!

Sunday, March 3, 9:00 AM - 4:45 PM

New Jersey State Museum

Explore the existence of crocodiles in New Jersey throughout their evolution. Crocodylians have been on the Earth for over 200 million years, and the wide diversity of crocodile species found in the Garden State’s fossil record is amazing. The exhibit delves into the fossil history of crocs in NJ, with preserved croc-like trackways dating back almost 200 million years and a nearly complete skeleton of crocodylian Hyposaurus rogersii, which lived in what is now Gloucester Co., NJ about 65 million years ago. Visitors will also come face-to-face with a six-foot skull reconstruction of Deinosuchus, one of the largest crocodiles to ever live.

Nesting and Chicks

Sunday, March 3, 10:00 AM

Duke Farms, Hillsborough

Duke Farms is home to a pair of bald eagles! Using our Eagle Cam, we will follow eagle chicks as they grow, eat, and eventually leave the nest. Through games and classroom activities, we will explore the life, behavior, and diets of eagles. These programs are designed for families with children in grades K-6. At least 1 adult must accompany each child during this program, with no more than two adults accompanying each child. Please note that we cannot accommodate any children who are not currently in Kindergarten. This includes the younger siblings of any registered K through 6 participants as well as any toddlers or babies in arms, carriers, slings or strollers.
