Join the Arts Council of Princeton as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of interactive workshops, music, and discussions as they relate to Dr. King’s life, teachings, and civic engagement. 9-10am Community Breakfast featuring speakers Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman and Ruha Benjamin, author & Professor in the Department of African American Studies at Princeton University; 10-11:30am Hands On! Art and history activities Canned food drive; 10:30 – Storytime with JaZams; 11:30am-12pm Gospel Performance. This free community event is held in collaboration with Princeton University, the Paul Robeson House, jaZams, Princeton Family YMCA, the Historical Society of Princeton, and the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice.

West Windsor Arts Center

Come to the WW Arts Center and participate in several projects supporting local service organizations who help our neighbors in need. Join the West Windsor Arts Council, the WW Human Relations Council, and the African American Parent Support Group as we partner with Send Hunger Packing/Mercer Street Friends, Rise Community Services, Crochet for a Cause, and more TBA. Several service projects will be available for you to participate in. We are also seeking the following donations: New children's PJs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, books, stuffed animals, Handknit or crocheted hats and scarves for veterans, Materials for making these items during the event. Items can be dropped off between now and MLK Day at the Arts Center at 952 Alexander Road, West Windsor M-F 10-6 or Sat. 10-4 OR Bring items with you for the DAY OF SERVICE. Families invited. In order to help us plan accordingly, please register your party for a timeslot by selecting one of the available tickets.
