Fiesta del Día de Los Reyes Magos: A Three Kings Day Celebration

Fiesta del Día de Los Reyes Magos: A Three Kings Day Celebration

Sunday, January 5, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Paul Robeson Center for the Arts

Join the Arts Council of Princeton for a special dance performance! Fiesta del Día de Los Reyes Magos, or Three Kings Day, is celebrated throughout the world by several different cultures, marking the culmination of the twelve days of Christmas and commemorating the three wise men who traveled from afar, bearing gifts for the infant baby Jesus. During Día de Los Reyes, many families serve Rosca de Reyes, or King’s Cake. “Rosca” means wreath and “reyes” means kings. Another tradition includes children placing their shoes under the Christmas tree before going to sleep the night before Día de Los Reyes Magos, to be filled with toys and gifts from the Three Kings. This celebration at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts will feature a live Flamenco dance performance led by Lisa Botalico. Enjoy a slice of Rosca de Reyes, learn about this cultural holiday, and end the holiday season in celebration!
