You may meet your favorite author or illustrator, listen to them discuss their work, have a book autographed, or just have the opportunity to talk to them about their inspiration.

September 21, 2019

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Activities for school-age children and families will highlight colonial life and the American Revolutionary War! The New Jersey Greys will demonstrate camp life with kids participating in marching and drilling. Demonstrations of musket and cannon firing. Meet and talk to George Washington, Ben Franklin, and Betsy Ross. Learn about 18th-century medicine and archaeology. Ask your questions about the Battle and the Revolution. Tour the Thomas Clarke House. Learn about New Jersey as the Crossroads of the American Revolution by visiting information tables set up by area historic sites. Bring a picnic basket and camera and enjoy the Battlefield’s landscape. Advance Registration donations of $10 per family by September 17 (registration per family on the day of the event will be $15). Registered kids will receive a welcome packet of gifts. (We cannot guarantee a welcome packet if not registered by September 17.) ​(rain date Saturday, September 28th)

Creepy Spider Hunt

Details: Crab spiders, jumping spiders, wolf spiders, orb and funnel weavers and more! Join our annual night hunt with nocturnal naturalist Jeff Hoagland. Bring your flashlight or headlamp to use as we navigate the trails in search of many different types of spiders.

Apple Days Harvest Festivals at Terhune Orchards

Location: Terhune Orchards, 330 Cold Soil Road, Princeton

Details: Come to Terhune Orchards for a day of family fun on the farm! What better way to celebrate fall than with Pick-Your-Own Apples and Pumpkins! Enjoy pony rides, pedal tractors, wagon rides, the corn maze, adventure barn, and our barnyard of farm animals. Children can paint their own pumpkin to bring home. Don’t worry about lunch, there’s lots of homemade farm fresh food – soup, chili, hot dogs, pies, cider donuts, apple cider, and more! Wine tasting in the Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery tasting room. Terhune Orchards features live music played by some of our best local talent (between noon and 4 pm).

Details: Fall is our favorite time of year...come join in the harvest at Fall Fest! Fall Fest includes AppleFest, the award-winning PumpkinFest, PumpkinFest After Dark, and HorrorFest. Enjoy wagon rides, apple picking, pumpkin picking, GIANT themed corn maze and lots more festival fun. Bring the family for a day &/or night of fun down on the farm.

One Hour Pasture Walks

7:30 PM

Location: Cherry Grove Farm, Lawrenceville

Details: We offer monthly guided farm walks led by folks who work on the farm. From milkers to cheesemakers, native plants to ghosts, each hour-long tour is designed to highlight a different aspect of our farm, and offer new information about the land, local history, flora and fauna. Bring your friends, or come meet new ones! These farm tours will take you past the fences and into the fields, pastures, cow paths, and woodlands. You may encounter tall grass, mud, burrs, insects, and other acts of nature. The ground can be uneven. Proper footwear and clothing are a must. We advise against heels and open shoes.
