Living history events will be held throughout the day. The Battle of Princeton was a critical turning point in the American Revolution. With muskets and cannon, there will be tactical formations and drills, and a combined arms assault re-enactment of the two-phased battle, with marching, loading, and firing volleys.Bring the family to see a typical American Revolution military camp with cooking and other domestic activities of camp followers. The camp will be set up in the morning and struck after 4pm. For Kids there will be “Young Patriots March” Presentations will explain uniforms, weapons and tactics. Visit the iconic Thomas Clarke House. A historic treasure, constructed circa 1772. Thomas Clarke and his sisters were present during the battle on January 3, 1777.

ArtWalk 2019
ArtWalk 2019

West Windsor Arts Center

June 1, 2019

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Starting and ending at the West Windsor Arts Center, join us for a 1-mile fun walk. The ArtWalk will feature a costume contest, art activities, games, a family picnic, music, and more! Your registration includes swag bag, water, 4 art activities, and completion certificate. Come dressed as your favorite artwork or artist and try to win a prize! Walk our route and pick up craft items along the way. We will keep everyone motivated and moving as they complete our 1-mile course. Return to the Arts Center to get your walk certificate, make your crafts, eat your picnic lunch under tents, and groove to the music. Raindate June 2. Proceeds from the ArtWalk support the WWAC’s education programs benefiting young children, teens, and adults, as well as multidisciplinary arts programming for the community, free of charge whenever possible.

Junior Gardeners

Location: Duke Farms, Hillsborough

Details: Have you ever wondered about where your veggies come from? Maybe you thought about planting a garden but you don’t know how to get started. Become a Junior Gardener and you will learn that growing your own veggies is easy and fun and they taste delicious! Duke Farms Garden Educators will show our junior gardeners how to take care of the soil, grow and harvest veggies such as sugar peas, sweet carrots, colorful lettuces and plump Jersey tomatoes and then taste the food that we are growing! This “seed to fork” experience will surely make a lasting impression on your junior gardener. Classes take place outdoors in the Duke Farms Community Garden.

Memorial Day Ceremony

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Location: Washington Crossing Historic Park

Details: Washington Crossing Historic Park will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, May 26 at 1 PM at the gravesite of Continental soldiers located near the Thompson-Neely House. The observation will include a colonial color guard, fife and drum music, Revolutionary War reenactors, the Guardians of the National Cemetery Firing Party, Daughters of the American Revolution, veterans, Boy Scouts and other honored guests. During the event, American flags will be placed on the graves.The gravesite marks the resting place of soldiers who died during the Continental army’s December 1776 encampment in Bucks County. Although no Americans were killed during the Delaware River crossing and the First Battle of Trenton, some soldiers succumbed to exposure, disease or previous injuries. James Moore, a 26-year-old artillery captain from a New York regiment, is the only veteran buried in this plot whose identity is known.

Details: “C… is for Celebrate!” Sesame Street® is celebrating 50 years and counting, and we’re celebrating all season long! Join in the festivities and enjoy an extra special fireworks display that celebrates the amazing 50 years of Sesame Street! Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count von Count, as their music fills the air and the sky is covered with colorful bursts of brilliance. Be sure to watch us paint the sky red (and green and blue) from inside the park. This impressive display will certainly give you something to celebrate this Memorial Day Weekend! Fireworks will begin immediately following the 9:00PM evening performance of the Neighborhood Street Party Night Parade on Sunday.
