Storytime Yoga

Details: Our certified yoga instructor will incorporate yoga which as you know has profound benefits on our bodies, minds, and hearts, so why not start early! Our class is also designed to teach kids to stay healthy, use their imagination, and think positively - all valuable life skills they can use into adulthood. All of the exercises & breathing and meditation techniques will be child-appropriate. Crafts, movement, singing, dance, and puppetry will be also be incorporated into our storytime to expose them to the various layers literature. There will always be a language-based game at the end of each storytime to review concepts learned during a book. It's a great way to practice paying attention, following directions, developing pre-reading skills, and socializing. We believe that is it is never too early to read to your children, so join us for some stories at Princeton Playspace!

Kids and Critters Prescool Program – Feeding Feeder Birds

Location: Plainsboro Preserve

Details: Bright pictures, lively stories, and learning about animals and nature – come hear an animated telling of a favorite children’s book, followed by meeting a live animal, a walk on our trails, or making a simple craft. Appropriate for children ages 3 – 4 years old. Pre-registration is required by calling 609-427-3052 at least a day in advance.

Details: Fun, supervised gymnastics for all ages. No pre-registration required . . . Open gym is a wonderful way to introduce your baby to the thrill of basic ovement/motor development as well as socialization and interaction with others. Also some time is spent on skills that challenge this age group more. Gymnastic apparatus is utilized to teach hanging, balancing, swinging, jumping, rolling, stretching, twisting and turning as well as familiarity with basic gymnastic skills for the 3 – 6 year old participants.

Details: We're different after dark. Lasers, music and blacklight transform the whole park into a crazy jumping dance club. Flips are limited to Foam Zone during Glow. Valentine Embroidery Workshop

Location: Paul Robeson Center for the Arts

Details: Love is in the air! Join the conversation at Arts Council of Princeton for an embroidery workshop to stitch a "Conversation Heart" in celebration of Valentine's Day. Current ACP exhibition All That You Leave Behind features the beautiful embroidery methods used by textile artist Diana Weymar. Peruse the show for inspiration and create your own stitched heart just in time for Valentine’s Day. Arts Council of Princeton Artistic Director Maria Evans will lead participants in how to stitch with thread the classic sayings we've all grown up with. This special workshop is supported by Pins and Needles.

Children’s Art Afternoons At Morven Museum & Garden

Location: Morven Museum

Details: Dive deep into Morven’s history through this 6-week class with Arts Council of Princeton’s Veronica Olivares. Focus on crafts and art forms created during the Revolutionary War era, explore historically based projects including miniature portraits, pen and ink landscapes, doll-making, quilt-making, silhouettes and basketry. Master artists of this era such as John Singleton Copley, Benjamin West, John Trumbull and Gilbert Stuart will be introduced.
