Journey Into Space

Journey Into Space

June 14, 2019

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Calling all budding astronomers, astrophysicists and space enthusiasts. Follow in the footsteps of NASA Engineers as you discover the vital role technology plays in space exploration. We will explore our stellar and planetary surroundings by showing what their sizes and surfaces really look like! We'll learn how planets, stars and galaxies are formed and why our night sky looks the way it does. We'll design landing structures for the moon and experiment with building rockets. Students will learn how models are used to understand objects that are far away. Each student will create take-home projects and enjoy demonstrations of the movement of our Solar System and the Milky Way. Projects and activities will depend on the age of the participants.
