Princeton Pi Day & Einstein Birthday Party
Time: 1:00pm
Activities: Albert Einstein was born on March 14th … 3.14 the numeric equivalent of pi! Einstein lived in Princeton for over twenty years and described the town as “paradise.” Princeton celebrates these quirky coincidences on Pi Day. The festivities start at 1:00pm at the Princeton Public Library with a pie judging contest and Pi recitation challenge. At 1:59pm (the next three numbers in Pi) the Princeton Public Library Community Room will open with interactive lab experiments hosted by the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab. At 3:14pm Palmer Square Green will host the town Birthday Party & Pie Throwing Event– After a robust “Happy Birthday” is sung, the first pie will fly! (Each throw $1 – donated to Princeton Public Library) Throughout the day, Princeton Tour Company will be offering a $3.14 “tour” of Einstein’s life with re-enactors hidden throughout various locations of downtown. (100% is donated to Princeton Public Library). Princeton Merchants join in the fun by pricing items at $3.14 and hosting all sorts of entertaining events.

The PrincetonKIDS and The Bank of Princeton Family Fun Day was held on May 16th, 2009 at Quaker Bridge Mall. Families stopped by to enjoy spectacular entertainment on stage by Charley the Magician, Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band and Mad Science. Kids participated in interactive circus games by Stone Soup Circus and learned martial arts skills from a hands-on demonstration by Montgomery TaeKwonDo Academy.
